Welcome to Westworth

Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Christ within Westworth and beyond.

Westworth United Church is a member of the United Church of Canada. We are located on Grosvenor Avenue at Lanark Street in River Heights, Winnipeg. We welcome visitors and new members to our congregation.

Our Values:

We Celebrate Christian Faith through thoughtful and challenging worship, opening ourselves to spiritual growth, encouraging all to share their gifts and inspirational music.

We Honour Human Diversity by treating all people with dignity and respect, affirming that gender and sexuality are gifts from God and that all people are made in the image of God, taking action to end all forms of discrimination, building community through events, studies, worship and relationships and providing opportunities to learn about and understand differences.

We Build Community by inviting others to journey with us, extending hospitality to all, accepting and celebrating diversity, respecting and supporting each other and embracing the contributions of all generations.

We Reach Out by actively offering our time, talents and resources; advocating for social justice and ecological justice; demonstrating compassion and living our commitment to service in all our relationships.

Westworth strives to be open and inclusive. Our building is wheelchair accessible and scent free. We welcome everyone who seeks to know God through Jesus Christ.

Music is an important part of worship and life and Westworth. We currently have an adult choir and a wind band. In past we have had a handbell choir, youth choir and childrens choir which could be revived if there is sufficient interest.

We offer Sunday school from nursery to grade 7, a youth group and regular adult Christian education programs. Our Messy Church program brings together families for sharing, worship and fellowship. Child care is available for children under 3 during the service.

Christ has no body on the earth now, but yours.
No hands, no feet on earth, but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which Christ looks at the world with compassion.
Yours are the feet with which Christ walks to do good.
Yours are the hands on which Christ relies to offer blessing.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes;
you are the body of Christ.
Christ no longer has any other body on this earth but yours.

St. Teresa of Avila (1515-1582)
